Themes in Conceptual Films
Within the variety of themes in conceptual films, one that interests me the most is mainly the here and now. This theme mostly connects the few shows and or films that I enjoy watching. These shows and films include, Trinkets, 13 Reasons Why, The DUFF, Mean Girls, and many others. The reason why I enjoy these films is because they take place in high school. I am currently in high school as this is where most of the films take place. Most of the problems and or situations that happen in the shows or films, I've seen happen to others around me as in friends or myself. Some of the problems are not as extreme as others in the films or shows, but small things they go through. There are many struggles that the characters face are things that most people in high school can relate to. Whether it be drama between friends, to just basic obstacles that most teenagers deal with on a daily basis. The here and now is the theme that I enjoy watching most because I can relate, or things that occur in my daily life. The here and now for me is high school since that is what my life really revolves around at this point in my life. As well as being able to relate to the shows or films, there is normally a story being told in the films. Whether the story tells a lesson or it just be a story, this is the theme that interests me the most. The stories that are being told in films and shows also interest me whether I can fully relate, or not at all. All the different types of films and shows that deal with problems in highschool or in the life of teenagers, mostly the here and now for me, are what interest me out of all the themes.
