Camera Movements
Crane Down:
Moves into story or scene, feeling of being dropped into character's world.
Crane Up-
Feeling of how small character is or how large the obstacle they are overcoming is.
Crane High to Low Angle-
Makes character seem strong and having a feeling of authority.
Handheld Camera-
Creates feeling of uneasiness or danger, shaking and unsettling.
Quick Pan-
Changes emotion of scene almost immediately, reveals something dangerous or something that the character is going to have to overcome.
Quick Push In-
Creates feeling of surprise or shock.
Slow Dolly In-
Creates feeling of tension, helps become more intimate with the character, can be intimate in a way that makes the viewer feel uncomfortable for the character, or shares emotion they are feeling in that moment.
Slow Dolly Out-
Leaves character looking abandoned or emotionless lost. To the viewer it creates a feeling of empathy or relationships have been developed, feel lost with them.
Dolly Across-
reveals action or change in emotional direction in a scene. reveals something that changes in emotion.
GlideCam-
Creates a dance feel, the emotion created is like dream like.
GlideCam 360 Reveal-
Sweeps around actor in 360, gives feeling of calm before the storm as something is going to happen.
Zolly-
Is a zoom with a dolly shot at the same time, background gets larger or smaller while character stays the same. creates overwhelming feeling of whats happening.
